Upclose Silliness

I want to free myself of all this,
Speak the mind, just let it go,
But then I think about your awkward ways,
So instead I feel this heavy heart sink low.

Cruisin’ in the sun, surrounded by familiar laughs,
She hears a song that usually brings a smile.
Instead, behind her black frames tears form,
All of a sudden she has lost control.

She doesn’t understand what’s going on,
“Little girl, why do you feel something so sharp?”
But see after the first, she made a silent promise,
Your visits in her dreams broke the promise somehow.

The heart was tickled and now itches, it makes her weak,
Don’t look too long into her eyes,
They might just speak; speak things of affection,
Just like those times when “up-close silliness” took over.
